Machine Quilting - Pricing

The quilting that I provide is longarm free motion quilting which includes allover, minimal custom up to full custom. I charge by the size of your quilt and how detailed the quilting is.

Pricing for quilting and thread, it ranges from $0.01 cent per square inch to $0.09 per square inch.

•  Charity quilts are quilted with an allover quilting design. $0.01 cents per inch (Thread included)

•  Allover Free Hand designs $.025 psi plus (Thread fee $8.00)
• Light Custom Quilting  This quilting will make your quilt shine with light stitching in the ditch and quilting that works with your piecing to make it pop. $0.035 psi (Thread fee $8.00) 1/2" - 3/4" spacing
•  Mid/Minimal Custom Quilting includes some ruler work, SID (stitch in the ditches), and background designs.  This type of quilting will personalize your quilt and keep the cost down. $0.045 psi (Thread fee $10.00) 1/2" spacing
• Custom Quilting includes ruler work, SID with elaborate secondary background designs $0.07 psi (Thread fee $15.00) 1/4" spacing

How do I figure out the pricing of my quilt? By the Square Inch
Example: Length x Width = Square Inches of your quilt

1. If your quilt is an average size Lap quilt that measures 54"x 72", multiply 
2. Your total is 3,888 square inches 
3. Multiply 3,888 x 0.02 = 77.76

Thread - Thread will cost between $8.00-$15.00 depending on the quilting that you choose.

Batting 

I carry an 80/20 cotton/poly blend or Wool. 

• 80/20 Cotton/Poly blend - $0.35 per inch on the short side of your quilt.
• Wool by Quilters Dream  - $0.55 per inch on the short side of your quilt.

I can order a different batting this will add at least 2 weeks more to complete your quilt.
Depending on the type of batting for a special order will run $9.00 - $20.00 a yard
Black batting is recommended for quilts with a dark backing fabric.Backing Piecing $10.00 - $30.00 depending on how much piecing is needed.Binding - Machine and Hand Binding is offered

• Sewing the binding to the front of the quilt .15 cents per inch which includes cutting, folding, and applying binding to the front of the quilt. Then you can complete the binding with hand sewing
• Machine Binding is $0.20 per inch.
• Machine binding with Hand Sewn around the front. $0.30 per inch.

You must provide at least a yard of fabric for the binding, I will prep the binding for you, any fabric that is leftover will be sent back to you.

Example for Binding:

1. Length + Width x 2 = Binding Length
2. Lap Quilt 54 + 72 x 2 = 198
3. 198 x $0.15 = $29.70
4. Round to $30.00

Sleeves

You supply the fabric and I can apply the D style sleeve. $20.00Sending and Receiving in your quilt

• Sending your quilt by mail is the fastest way. Place your quilt top, backing, or batting if you are providing it, place it in a plastic bag before boxing. Fill out this form before sending your quilt Quilting Order Form Mailing is usually about $15-$20 each way.
• I receive and return quilts through USPS. My address is PO Box 535, Decatur, AR 72722. 
• If you are in my neck of the woods... I can meet you at JoAnns or Hobby Lobby. I don’t have clients come to my house due to insurance reasons. 

Shipping 

• If you decide to mail your quilt. I suggest that you place all items in a plastic bag to protect while in transit. I usually receive quilts within 2-4 days of being sent and will contact you as soon as I receive your quilt.
• $15.00 - $20.00 which includes packaging, shipping cost, and a tracking number.
•  Insurance is extra depending on your preference.
